Thailand Church Planter
The role is based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
The Church Planter is the field-level leader responsible for ensuring spiritual multiplication by cultivating existing believers into mature, self-reproducing communities within a specific stream or set of streams. This role is fundamentally focused on gathering new believers into disciple-making groups and guiding those groups to successfully mature into healthy, functioning churches that, in turn, plant new churches. The Church Planter also organizes and implements essential leadership training to sustain the movement and oversee all related team members in their area. It is full time and support raising or self-funding is required. The role is based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
Key Responsibilities
- Disciple Making Group Cultivation: Gather those who have accepted the Gospel into structured, reproducible disciple-making groups, emphasizing obedience-based discipleship and spiritual growth.
- Church Maturation and Establishment: Guide the development of these disciple-making groups through intentional coaching until they transition into healthy, functional churches that are equipped to initiate their own church plants.
- Leadership Training Implementation: Organize and personally implement leadership development training cycles specifically tailored to equip disciples within the stream(s) to become future leaders and planters.
- Stream Management and Accountability: Oversee the success and health of the assigned church planting stream(s), maintaining rigorous accountability for multiplication benchmarks and reporting progress to the CPM Coordinator.
- New Believer Assimilation Oversight: Collaborate closely with Evangelists and their teams to ensure every new believer is quickly and effectively transitioned from initial contact into a foundational discipleship group.
- MTS/Apprentice Field Integration: Serve as a mentor and guide for any Missionary Training School (MTS) students or apprentices placed within the stream(s), providing them with practical, hands-on experience in discipleship and church planting.
Required Qualifications
- Must personally embrace GFM's purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith
- Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
- Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
- Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
- Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
- Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, etc.)
- Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM's Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
Recommended Experience
- A College Degree is preferred but not required; informal training/experience in administration, communications, team building, human resource management, organization, leadership, and/or ministry will be considered
